RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, 2005

An act to provide for seeting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparencyand accountability in the working of every public authority.  And also requiring an informed citizenry in democracy and to contain corruption and to hold public authorities accountable to the governed.

The Act received the assent of the President on the 15th June 2005.

This act came into force wef 12th Oct 2005.

This act extended to the whole of India except J&K.

This act is applicable to all Governments of State/Central.

 

                                                                                        RIGHT TO EDUCATION ACT, 2009

                                    (GO No.39 of 2009 dt.26.8.2009 published on 27.8.2009 by Ministry of Law and Justice)

An act to provide for free and compulsory education to all children of the age of six to fourteen years.

This act may be called the Right of children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009.

This act extended to the whole of India except J&K.

This act is applicable to all Governments of State/Central and Local Authorities.

Monitoring of child's right to education is by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
